Besides the ladybugs, there was a potato bug and several slender salamanders. The first one I found in the front yard. Then in the back yard I moved a piece of wood and found two of them in one spot! If you look closely in the last picture you can see two of them. One is at the top of the picture and one is near the bottom.
Both the potato bug and the salamander are more often found in the yards of older homes where the soil hasn't been disturbed by the grading that goes on in the building of new developments. I used to feed the potato bugs to the chickens, but then I found out they are good bugs. Ugly, but good!
