... a young garter snake that someone had found at work! We let it out near the woodpile, but Slithers had other ideas.
It headed off toward the edge of the (empty) pond and rested in the sun for awhile.
We left it alone and it eventually slid off somewhere to hide. Or maybe for a meal! Welcome to your new home, Slithers!

"Slithers"...too cute! We came home to one on our porch, and it freaked Tommy out. I assured him that it was all part of the circle of life. When we returned, he was gone. I like to think that he found a welcoming spot and made his home. :)
