What they did on their summer vacation...

My friends from Seattle are the great kind of friends to have. Every year when they visit we get something done that has been hanging around unfinished. Last year one of the things we did was clean out a trailer that needed to be used during the construction and that I had been avoiding working on. Also, every trip chandeliers get cleaned and/or repaired.

This year was no exception! It started with me getting the construction storage mess cleaned up before they arrived. I don't have a before picture, but imagine a room filled with boxes where it was difficult to get to anything that wasn't right along the one path through the mess! (In my defense, the construction eliminated two storage areas and displaced some furniture!)
Here is the only corner in the house big enough for the corner cabinet!
Turn slightly right and here is the bentwood rocker from Mom. A great space for reading and watching the action out the windows.
This is the view back from that corner toward the door. We even got pictures hung. Amazing what a deadline will do for me! Below is what the sunroom/mezzanine looks like now.
After they arrived, the lighting installation began!! Our lighting expert (also known as Godfather to the House!) not only finds them no matter where he goes, he helps to install them! Here is the light that was in the spare room dressing area. It didn't really fit there, so we think it may originally have been in the mezzanine before it was enclosed to make the sun room.
Here is GTTH himself with the porchlight he found at Ohmega Salvage.

They look like they were the original lights! (We still have the originals but they are about a third the size so they will be relocated to the garage or the well house.)

There are some wall sconces that the GTTH had sent and that we were waiting to install when we had the living room wiring upgraded. Fortunately, we don't have to wait that long. They are now installed with cords and plugs and dimmers!

By the way, the Godfather also vacuums!

I need a Godfather!!! The sunroom looks awesome, everything is so cozy and inviting. It would be hard to get up and vacuuming under such circumstances.
