One of the maps that your link points to shows the quakes within the past week. It's a little scary to see how many there are.....at least scary to those of us who live in the land of snow, not earthquakes!

Hearing all the news about the anniversary of the Haiti earthquake yesterday, I feel fortunate that I haven't had a really frightening or devastating earthquake experience. Having lived near faults my whole life, I felt my first earthquake while in high school. I guess I live an oblivious life! Loma Prieta was scary and did damage nearby--but none of the damage directly affected me. I guess that makes it easy to be cavalier about earthquakes. Tornadoes and hurricanes--now those I would definitely not like to experience!
