Backpacking photos! Day One on the Pacific Crest Trail!
These are from Marsha's camera. It starts with us at the trailhead--some horses are coming off the trail as we get on. With the weather being so unusually wet and cool this year we didn't hike a very high trail. There was too much snow to do the hike we had originally planned at Cascade Pass, but I think we actually were better off with our Plan B!
Much of what we saw on the first day was lush, open areas. So of course we took lots of pictures of plants! This hike starts at Rainy Pass on Highway 2 (that's the little U shaped part of the highway in the map below--the little "A" marker on the map is hidden behind the word map at the top) and goes South to Stehekin on the northern side of Lake Chelan (the little "B" marker). You can kind of see the trail on the map making sort of a C shape between A and B. We did 13 soggy miles the first day and camped at Bridge Creek Camp. What fun!

So on to the slide show!
(If the slide show gets stuck, just put the cursor over it and you will see arrows you can use to move on to the next photo--it should end with us in a rainy campsite!)
