This is the floor of the utility room/new bathroom being poured.
Here is another view of the utility room with its cement already poured.
Here are three different views of the Aunt's new bedroom. El Esposo did destructo duty and removed plaster from the existing walls last weekend. We decided that matching new sheetrock to old plaster was not going to work. Unfortunately, this construction project is not "This Old House" so some of the old is sacrificed for the budget. On the other hand, extra plaster work will be done on the outside of the window sills to make the new look more like the old. So I guess that is the natural trade off that happens in a project like this.
Here is the roof of the added 5 feet of the Aunt's room.
Finally, here is a shot of the kitchen window and door to the utility room. The water damage was fixed, new paper was put up and now it is wired and ready to be re-plastered. This section is also being replastered all the way up to the roof because this was where the old 1940s or 1950s addition was pulling away from the original house.
