Spring is sproinging!

Two things this week let me know that spring is finally here:

Dolly laid an egg after a long winter of no laying!

It is veggie box day tomorrow after a long winter of no veggie boxes!

To see more about what veggies we are getting tomorrow check out the LINK of the WEEK on the right. The website also has a wide variety of recipes and pictures of the farms and information about Community Supported Agriculture.

If you are interested in eating in a way that leaves a smaller footprint on our Mother Earth, check out the Eat Well Guide for sustainable food choices near you.

I think I need one of these boxes...I just realized that sometimes, an entire day will go by and I haven't eaten a single veggie! What the?

Oh boy, would you eat veggies if you had a CSA box! You have to work really hard to eat all the veggies from the box before the next week. When we first started we shared a box with our neighbors and it wasn't so bad. The box is designed for a family and we were only two people so sharing was great. Then, they didn't want to continue so we had the whole box to eat and it got a lot harder! One night of sandwiches for dinner or going out would put us off our game and mean extra veggies! But now we have three people in the household and all of us have gotten more used to eating lots of veggies so it is a lot easier. We still have weeks where we don't eat at home and the veggies build up, but it is more rare.
